At Malo Dental Dental Care Gold Coast, you are in safe and experienced hands with the team lead by practice Founder and Owner, Dr Sham Jamal.
Dr Sham Jamal – founder/Owner
After graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the University of Sydney, Dr Jamal joined Australia Fair Dental in 2003 and became a partner two years later. After 15 years with the experienced team based in Southport, Dr Jamal stepped out and founded Malo Dental Gold Coast.
Dr Jamal is well-known for his attention to detail and passion for knowledge. He is currently teaching undergraduate dental students at Griffith University and undertaking a post graduate diploma in Dental Implants.
Dr Jamal is highly experienced in All on 4™ dental implants, single traditional implants, General Dentistry, Cosmetic Dentistry and Restorative & Orthodontics.
Dr Remon Mekaeil — Dentist
Graduating in 1986, Dr Remon Mekaeil has received qualifications from Sydney University, as well as The University of Queensland. Before his time at Malo Dental, he worked in the public sector briefly before starting a role in a private clinic which he called home for 17 years.
With a special interest for general dentistry, children’s dentistry and orthodontics, Dr Mekaeil enjoys focusing on the development of each child’s smile. His goal is to make sure that they maintain beautiful, healthy teeth for life. He says it can be challenging but rewarding at the same time.
Dr Remon Mekaeil is married with two kids, loves camping and exploring the outdoors.
Dr Jennifer Bhuta – Dentist
Jennifer completed a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science in 2016 and a Graduate Diploma in Dentistry in 2018 from Griffith University on the Gold Coast. During her studies, Jennifer received an Award for Academic Excellence during each of the five years from 2014-2018. Her passion for Orthodontics saw her receive the Australiasian Society of Orthodontics QLD State Branch Prize for achieving the highest mark during her final year. Jennifer was not only involved in the university holding up to 3 committee positions at a time, but she also competed in Miss World Australia scoring herself a QLD finalist position.
Following graduation, Jennifer wanted to make a greater impact in Dentistry where she worked as a predominately solo practitioner over 4 rural clinics on the border of NSW and VIC. Treating such a high volume of patients has given her experience beyond her years. Jennifer enjoys building relationships with her patients and making dentistry a pleasant experience. She made the tough decision to relocate back to the Gold Coast to pursue her interest in cosmetic and implant Dentistry at the Malo Dental.
Outside of Dentistry Jennifer likes to explore the outdoors whether it be surfing or hiking, cooking, travelling and learning about new cultures, and of spending time with her friends and family.

Elektra Rorie — Oral Health Therapist (Adult Scope)

Elektra Rorie originally started her career in the dental field as a dental therapist. She upgraded her qualifications to be able to work in private practice as an oral health therapist. In 2019 Elektra furthered her skills and completed
Oral Health Therapist (Adult Scope) G Cert Oral HSc at Adelaide University.
Her passion is ensuring that children have a great experience at their dental visits and working alongside the dentists, she strives to provide a high level of oral care and preventative treatment for both children and adult patients.
